Touch ‘n Go bakal melancarkan Enhanced Touch ‘n Go Card atau dipanggil kad TNG generasi baharu yang dilengkapi dengan ciri NFC (Near Field Communication).
Baru-baru ini, pihak TNG telah berkongsi beberapa buah video berkenaan kad baharu tersebut di saluran YouTube mereka namun video itu telah dipadamkan kerana ia dipercayai telah tersebar tanpa sengaja.
Kad NFC Touch ‘n Go
Tidak lama lagi, TNG bakal melancarkan kemudahan menambah nilai kad fizikal baharu mereka yang dilengkapi fungsi baharu NFC yang membolehkan pengguna menambah nilai kad fizikal melalui aplikasi TNG eWallet sahaja.
Kad fizikal yang sedang digunakan oleh TNG pada ketika ini tidak dilengkapi dengan ciri NFC. Ini bermakna pengguna perlu membeli kad Enhanced Touch ‘n Go baharu untuk menggunakan fungsi tersebut.
Dengan kad Enhanced Touch ‘n Go, pengguna boleh menambah nilai kad fizikal mereka tanpa perlu ke kiosk, stesen minyak, 7-Eleven atau kaunter perkhidmatan tanpa sebarang yuran tambahan.
Cara Aktifkan Kad NFC TNG
Fungsi ini boleh digunakan bagi peranti iOS dan Android yang mempunyai ciri NFC sahaja
Pautkan kad tersebut ke aplikasi eWallet untuk semak baki serta tambah nilai
Tambah nilai kad menggunakan baki eWallet
Letakkan kad baharu dibelakang telefon pintar selama 5 saat
Selain itu, baki kad baharu itu juga akan diasingkan dari baki eWallet, sama seperti kad fizikal sedia ada ketika ini.
Mana Nak beli Kad NFC TNG?
Berdasarkan video yang tersebar itu, kad baharu TNG dengan fungsi NFC ini boleh didapati secara terus di aplikasi TNG eWallet, sama seperti proses membeli Tag RFID melalui aplikasi terbabit.
Selain itu, video itu juga memaparkan bahawa kad ini dijual pada harga RM10 tidak termasuk caj penghantaran.
Menurut perkongsian sebuah portal gajet dan teknologi, jurujual TNG di NU Sentral berkata ciri tambah nilai secara NFC menggunakan aplikasi TNG eWallet dijangka mungkin hanya aktif sekitar bulan Mei nanti.
Pada awalnya, pihak TNG telah pun menjual kad NFC ini kepada umum, namun ia telah diberhentikan atas sebab yang tidak diketahui. Mungkin ingin menunggu tarikh pelancarannya.
Kalau ada yang tidak sabar, anda boleh mendapatkan kad NFC ini di platform jual beli atas talian dengan harga yang lebih tinggi. Walau bagaimanapun, fungsi baharu tambah nilai melalui NFC ini hanya akan boleh digunakan apabila kad baharu ini dilancarkan secara rasmi kelak.

Since the guilty verdict of Sam Ke Ting caused so much public uproar, Malaysians have taken to social media to post amateur video of these ‘basikal lajak’ riders on our streets.
The scariest part about the circumstances surrounding this case was the sinking feeling that it “could happen to anyone”, or more pointedly, happen to us.
The thought that we, as normal drivers, could be sent to jail for failing to react quickly and correctly (clairvoyantly?) enough to the illegal, reckless and foolish actions of others, just as long as the victims involved are minors, is a disturbing one.
However, public consensus on the matter still seems quite split with some armed with choice criticisms for the driver in spite of the fact that there was no confirmation of reckless driving, alcohol abuse, or illicit substances involved besides the fact that 8 teenagers are now deceased.
That’s a pretty wide logical leap. “Innocent until proven guilty”, or the presumption of innocence, does not really apply here as there is such a dearth of evidence overall.
To help cement the magnitude of danger these riders pose to law abiding and road-tax paying drivers like us, here are a compilation of some of those videos that have been making the rounds on social media:
The first is probably the scariest of the bunch. At a junction that’s only barely illuminated by the headlights of the vehicles there, a group of these juvenile riders steamroll past at a red light, forcing the Myvi to halt in the middle of lane, barely missing it. Luckily none of them collided with the car or we might have had another driver in jail.
Our second place contender isn’t nearly as distressing but shows how brazen these delinquents have gotten as they were spotted on the streets of Kuala Lumpur (Jalan Sultan Ismail, specifically) during the day instead of their usual haunts of dimly lit highways in the middle of the night.
In third spot, we have a compilation from TikTok. It starts with these kids coming down the overpass close to IKEA Cheras but follows with a collection of clips that sees them falling and getting curb-stomped by gravity and inertia.
How does your reaction time, night vision, and clairvoyance fare against these Basikal Lajak riders that are, from a driver’s perspective, below your field of view, completely unilluminated, moving at high speed, and lack any brakes to slow down?
A momentary lapse in concentration or plain bad luck when encountering them could apparently land you in jail (after a 5-year legal battle). Drive safe.
Drink driving (and driving under the influence of drugs) seems to be the lowest cause of fatal crashes in the past 10 years in Malaysia. Yeah, we didn’t believe it at first either.
Only 69 deaths due to drunk driving?
Between July 2011 and 2021, a PDRM statistical report shows that only 69 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs have been categorised as the cause of fatal accidents in Malaysia.
Of course, any life needlessly lost is a tragedy but that figure is apparently the lowest cause of death out of the thousands of road fatalities reported over the past decade.
Single vehicle crashes – 19,570 deaths
At the other end of the spectrum, ‘single vehicle’ crashes topped the list of the highest contributor to fatal accidents, which is characterised by the involvement of just one car, lorry, or motorcycle. Over the same period, it was attributed to 19,570 deaths.
Other causes of fatal accidents in Malaysia?
In the runner-up position, the report shows negligent driving while exiting or coming into a junction as the second-highest cause with 6,590 deaths. It’s also worth noting that a total of 1,990 reported roadside casualties were the result of pedestrian negligence.
Other causes of fatalities include accidents as a result of overtaking (6,560), collisions due to not noticing a head-on obstruction (6,336), accidents while making a U-turn (2,570), driving against the flow of traffic (1,731), beating or attempting to beat a traffic light (1,398), and falling asleep at the wheel (1,305).
This is a pretty fascinating statistic. However, does it speak to successful enforcement that has managed to curb incidents of driving under the influence? Or might this imply that driving while intoxicated (albeit lightly) is less of an inhibiting factor than previously thought since Malaysians are apparently more dangerous on the roads while sober.
What car launches can we expect in 2022 in Malaysia?
It's been a heck of a rollercoaster ride for everyone in 2021. Just as we thought that things were starting to look up, an unexpected storm hit the country, causing floods in most parts of Malaysia – destroying properties and vehicles along the way.
With that being said, many Malaysians will probably have to look for a replacement vehicle in the new year. While it seems like every manufacturer has introduced their new cars in the last few months, there are some that are still waiting to be introduced in 2022.
So what car debuts can we expect in 2022? Well, we can expect a couple of national 7 seaters, a long-awaited compact MPV from Japan as well as a national and non-national hybrid vehicle.
If you're looking for a big, exclusive and powerful SUV that can comfortably hold up to seven passengers, then the Proton X90 should be on your radar. Rumours are rife that the Proton X90 (forecast name) will make an appearance in 2022 as the Geely Haoyue, the car it is based on, has been seen testing around the capital and several other major roads.
It has been suggested that the new national MPV will come with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine and a mild hybrid system, producing around 187 horsepower, 300 Nm of torque channelled to a 7-speed twin-clutch transmission.
The current Perodua Alza is a bit long in the tooth, so it's high time that a replacement is introduced. The second-generation code-named D27A will come with a 1.5-litre dual VVT-i engine, Dual Mode CVT transmission and be built on Daihatsu's New Global Architecture platform. The platform will also be shared with the Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia models.
However, according to rumours, this model's launch, which was supposed to occur in the first quarter of 2022, has now been postponed to the second quarter of 2022 – probably around June. One of the reasons for this delay is the shortage of supplies and computer chips. Perhaps its twin, the Toyota Avanza, will make an appearance before it.
The new Honda BR-V is another vehicle from Honda which is highly anticipated. It will be equipped with Honda's naturally aspirated L15ZF 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol with 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque driving the front wheels via an Earth Dreams CVT – basically the same updated dual-overhead-camshaft 1,497cc unit in the newest City.
The BR-V will give fierce competition to the Perodua Aruz, Toyota Rush and even the Mitsubishi Xpander. Looking at the Indonesian market, we expect the BR-V to be "value for money" and drive like a sedan.
It's well publicised that the CKD Corolla Cross Hybrid is coming next year. Although it might look the same as the regular Corolla Cross, the hybrid model is more sophisticated in its powertrain. Currently, Toyota Malaysia is only accepting bookings for the Corolla Cross Hybrid. However, we expect this model to go on sale starting at the beginning of next year based on current predictions.
This might seem a bit far fetched, but we can only hope that Perodua will introduce a hybrid Ativa in 2022. Adding to the hype are several sightings of the Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid being tested around town, triggering the possibility that a Hybrid Ativa will be with us soon. Too soon? Well, we will just have to wait and see.
If the government's proposal to make EVs tax-free goes to plan, we can also expect some EVs to be launched in 2022. However, since this is uncharted territory, we will have to update the 2022 EV debut list further down the line – as things are not clear cut just yet. However, there are a few that we can mention as there are strong rumours that it will debut in Malaysia in 2022.
Ever since the IONIQ 5 made an appearance in Malaysia courtesy of the Johor Royal family, people locally can't stop talking about it. Well actually, people can't stop talking about the IONIQ 5 worldwide as the Hyundai electric vehicle is rather impressive. It would be an understatement to say that Hyundai hasn’t gone from strength to strength in recent years, but the IONIQ 5 seems to be their biggest step yet.
Built upon the same platform as the Kia EV6, the IONIQ 5 packs similarly potent performance. An electric range of up to 480 km and being able to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes (with the right kind of charger) make for a battery electric vehicle that really lives up to modern requirements. It is offered in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive – completely independent of the specification you choose.
Bermaz's Kia revival has an EV and hybrid roadmap in place. In addition to focusing on the continuation of mass-market vehicles through local assembly operations, the ‘new’ Kia will also leverage the automaker’s newest and most advanced global models such as the fully electric EV6.
By extracting maximum performance from the larger battery option as well as the dual-motor powertrain, the EV6's combined output is 576 hp and 740 Nm. It's not only about power though as the EV6 has 510 km of travel based on the WLTP testing standard.
For a little perspective, that’s more power than the Taycan 4S, a true electric sports car. The Kia also happens to beat out the Porsche in a 0-100km/h sprint by half a second, reaching the three-figure mark in just 3.5 seconds. Top speed, meanwhile, is electronically capped at 260km/h.
8.Mazda MX-30
The Mazda MX-30 rumour mill actually started way back in 2020, where apparently according to a report by AmInvestment Bank said that the MX-30 will arrive in Malaysia in October 2020. It possibly didn't happen because of COVID 19 disruptions. After being quiet for a while, the rumours started again, especially after the announcement by the government that it wishes to make EVs practically tax free.
The Mazda MX-30 was first introduced to the world at the 2019 Tokyo Motors Show. It is Mazda's first electric vehicle and features quirky suicide doors. It is powered by a 35.5 kWh battery with a power output of 141 hp and 264 Nm of torque and offers a range of 209 km. According to Mazda, 80% charge can be achieved within 30 to 40 minutes via a 40 kW DC charger.

If you missed it, reigning Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has called out the 527bhp Aston Martin Vantage safety car as slow as a “turtle”.
Verstappen made that comment after the Australian GP where the safety car was brought out twice after Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz beached his car on the gravel and Sebastian Vettel crashed his Aston Martin. According to Vettel, the safety car was driving too slowly around the track, causing his tyres to lose grip as they were cold.

“There’s so little grip, and the safety car was driving so slow, it was like a turtle. Unbelievable,” Verstappen said after the race. “To drive 140 km/h on the back straight, there was not a damaged car, so I don’t understand why we have to drive so slowly.”
“For sure the Mercedes safety car is faster because of the extra aero because this Aston Martin is really slow. It definitely needs more grip, because our tyres were stone cold,” said Verstappen.
What about a Ferrari F1 Safety Car?
Australian Grand Prix race winner Charles Leclerc also agreed with Verstappen’s statement and even slyly implied that the Aston Martin safety car was not fit for duty.
“I was struggling massively to put some temperature in them, so I also struggled. To be honest, I wanted to complain, but then I checked how much the safety car was sliding in the corner, and I don’t think there was anything more that he could give, so I didn’t want to put too much pressure on,” said the race winner.
Mercedes driver George Russell also joined in the bashing of the Aston Martin safety car and said that the Mercedes safety car is a faster car than the Aston.
“We don’t have issues with the Mercedes-AMG safety car. On a serious note though, the Mercedes-AMG is like five seconds, a lot quicker, than the Aston Martin safety car, which is pretty substantial,” said Russell.
Leclerc couldn’t help himself after George’s statement and said “We need to put a Ferrari on the track, so it’s then five seconds faster than the Mercedes car.”
FIA responds to Aston Martin ‘turtle’ criticism
Following this, the FIA has responded to criticisms of the Aston Martin safety car being a ‘turtle’ – conforming in a way that the Aston Martin is slow…
They released a statement on Twitter stating that the priority of the safety car was not how fast it goes but instead it is there to help officials keep the race running in a safe manner.
“In light of recent comments regarding the pace of the FIA Formula 1 Safety Car, the FIA would like to reiterate that the primary function of the FIA Formula 1 Safety Car is, of course, not outright speed, but the safety of the drivers, marshals and officials.”
“The safety car procedures take into account multiple objectives, depending upon the incident in question, including the requirement to ‘bunch up’ the field, negotiate an incident recovery or debris on track in a safe manner and adjust the pace depending on recovery activities that may be ongoing in a different part of the track.”
The FIA added that the ultimate speed of the safety car was not defined by its technical aspects, but instead by what race control needs.
Sharing duties: Aston Martin Vantage/ Mercedes-AMG GT
“The speed of the safety car is therefore generally dictated by race control, and not limited by the capabilities of the safety cars, which are bespoke high-performance vehicles prepared by two of the world’s top manufacturers, equipped to deal with changeable track conditions at all times and driven by a hugely experienced and capable driver and co-driver.
For those who are unfamiliar with this year’s safety car arrangement, Formula 1 currently has two safety cars, an Aston Martin Vantage and a Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, which alternate between races.
While both cars feature a 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine, the Mercedes wins the horsepower output race as it has 730hp compared to the Aston’s 528hp. Apparently, as suggested by Verstappen, the Mercedes-AMG safety car also delivers higher levels of aerodynamic performance.
That’s at least one time Verstappen will fancy a Mercedes in front!
