Brembo unveils new logo – what’s wrong with the old one?

Brembo has officially unveiled its new visual identity and logo that portrays its latest strategic vision – “Turning Energy into Inspiration”.

This vision, however, is not entirely new as it was launched back in 2020. With the goal to transform itself into a solution provider, Brembo has big plans to make a big impact in the future of mobility. From just components to complete solutions, Brembo is playing the long game.

What’s with the new logo?

Featuring a new design innovation with remaining true to the brand’s iconic style, the new Brembo logo has been ‘optimised’ thanks to new lettering that’s apparently softer, rounder, and easier to read. That iconic red, however, has been retained.

Why? The Brembo red symbolises Brembo’s passion, especially to the current digital-native generation (younger, in other words). It’s definitely a simpler and more direct-to-the-point symbol, but what Brembo is trying to achieve is its status as a timeless brand.

Brembo Greentive & Sensify just a start

Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), mechatronics, and the all-important data, the launches of the Brembo Greentive disc brakes and Sensify state-of-the-art calipers is just the start of the company’s very crucial journey. As for the brand image, it’s just another step closer to realising their plans and aspirations.

According to Daniele Schillaci, Brembo’s CEO, “Brembo’s new visual identity ensures consistency between our promise and our image, powering our brand experience. The core element of this new identity is the restyling of our logo, which is recognized all over the world and has contributed to our company’s success.”

“Now it embeds the notion of simplicity, with a modern and digital soul capturing Brembo’s forward-looking attitude. The new visual identity expresses both the company’s heritage and its evolution and it will inspire our future,” added Schillaci.

Talk of the town: can Chery’s SUVs go up against the usual suspects?

How does Chery Malaysia’s lineup of SUVs compare to its natural rivals?

Yesterday marked a significant milestone in Chery’s renewed operations in Malaysia. Members of the media were invited to attend a preview of their SUVs, which coincided with Chery’s first physical event in Malaysia under a new team.

The takeaway from the event was that Chery has a fighter for most of the popular SUVs available in Malaysia, so we thought we would pair them up against what we think would be their natural competitors to see how they would stack up.

Under phase 1, Chery will be introducing the Tiggo 4 Pro, Tiggo 7 Pro, Tiggo 8 Pro, and the Omoda 5. Right now, they are nothing but names and numbers to those who are uninitiated, so by putting them next to their natural rivals, we hope to paint a better picture of their target market.

The Chery SUVs at the preview were not in their final Malaysian specifications and because of this we won’t go into full detail about them. Chery has not announced any pricing for their cars just yet, but we expect them to be quite competitive.

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro VS Perodua Ativa

The Tiggo 4 Pro is an offering targeted towards younger buyers as it has a combination of technology and comfort. In terms of size, the Tiggo 4 Pro is the smallest model in the Tiggo Pro family, and from the naked eye, it looks to be around the same size as the Perodua Ativa.

Chery Tiggo 7 Pro VS Proton X70

The Tiggo 7 Pro is a C-segment SUV that offers 5 seats. From first impressions, this model offers a balance between urban style and luxury features. It has the same engine as the Tiggo 4 Pro and surprisingly the same amount of power too. Chery did say they are considering  a plug-in-hybrid version for the Malaysian market, but that is still up in the air.

Chery Tiggo 8 Pro VS Peugeot 5008

For the largest model in theTiggo family, the 8 Pro is targeted at entrepreneurs and professionals through a combination of technology, premium touches and 7-seater versatility. This large SUV features a more luxurious interior compared to other Tiggo models. Chery are also considering bringing in a plug-in-hybrid version of the SUV, but that is also undecided.

Chery Omada 5 VS Proton X50 Flagship

The Omada 5 is a B-segment SUV designed according to the philosophy of ‘art in motion’. This car is aimed at younger buyers who want a futuristic SUV with smart technology such as ADAS. The exterior design of the SUV is definitely striking and the interior is sophisticated headlined by those large twin screens located at the dashboard.

So as you can see, Chery’s offerings are quite competitive when compared to some of the popular SUVs sold in Malaysia. Core spec for spec, they are actually quite good and can really give some of these popular SUVs a run for their money.

Yes, there are some concerns about resale value as we found out from some of the comments made, but Chery is now in Malaysia under Chery Automobile Co. Ltd, which means Chery in Malaysia will have a lot of support from the principal company.

All we need to know is the pricing and finalised specifications, and if that’s good why shouldn’t anyone consider a Chery?

BMW XM Label Red unveiled – most powerful M car has 1000Nm of torque

BMW’s most powerful production car has been unveiled, and it ain’t no sedan!

When BMW unveiled the XM back in September, it came with performance figures that propelled it right up the M food chain. While 644hp and 800Nm might seem like more than enough power for any SUV, it wasn’t enough for BMW.

Fast forward to today, BMW has just unveiled the performance version of their performance SUV on their Instagram page. Called the XM Label Red, the new BMW has a power rating of 738 hp and 1000 Nm of torque.

The SUV houses the same 4.4-litre M TwinPower V8 petrol engine as the regular XM, but its e-motor has been tweaked to produce 195 hp and 280 Nm of torque, giving it 94hp and 200 Nm more than the regular XM.

The best thing about this XM Label Red is that it still needs to be finished, as the claimed figures are just estimates based on the vehicle’s current stage of development.

As for the exterior, the XM label Red has been predictably given a colourful treatment of some red accents across the car. The body panels of the Label Red look the same as the regular XM, but there are now red accents around the illuminated grille, shoulder line and alloy wheels.

This is far as the unveiling goes, as BMW is still working on the car and might even give it more power. Whatever it is, BMW has promised to give drivers of the XM Label Red “large reserves of power in an instant,” which should make it drive like a performance electric vehicle.

According to the Instagram post, the XM Label Red is coming in the Autumn of 2023. Think the Label Red is an overkill? well, you can always purchase the regular XM, which is actually up for booking now through BMW Malaysia

Buka Pintu Kereta Tanpa Periksa Cermin Sisi, Pintu Proton Ertiga Bersepai

Kepentingan Cermin Sisi Kereta

Tips Sebelum Keluar Kereta

Lihat Cermin sisi

Jangan Tinggalkan Barang Berharga

Caj Tambahan Untuk e-Hailing, Teksi

*Kredit foto: FMT

Tiada Justifikasi Untuk Kenakan Caj

11th-gen Honda Accord hybrid teased for 2023 with built-in Google

Honda has officially teased the 2023 Honda Accord with some exterior and interior shots, and they do look banging.

With the goal to bring more ‘excitement’ into the midsize sedan market, the 11th-gen Honda Accord will feature a new and sleeker exterior styling that sort of matches with the latest Honda Civic FE offering as well as an upgraded hybrid powertrain.

New front and rear end – a classy yet youthful touch?

Honda’s teaser won’t be complete without showcasing the car’s new front and rear end. Starting with the front face, the 11th-gen Accord features a more ‘youthful’ and sleek appearance thanks to its hexagonal-styled grille and slim DRLs plus headlights. First impression? Nice, very nice.

Going to the back end, the taillights run almost across the entire rear apart from the Honda logo located in the middle. Looking just as clean and sleek as the front end, the 2023 Honda Accord will most likely be a sleeker-looking sedan than the previous-gen. We can only know for sure once Honda decides to showcase the entire silhouette, but things are already looking good now.

First Honda with built-in Google

While the details of this new and more responsive ‘fun-to-drive’ hybrid powertrain for the 2023 Honda Accord have yet to be revealed, Honda has stated that it’ll be their first-ever model that’ll be integrated with Google for ‘seamless on-the-go connectivity’.

From our very own personal experience with the Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, the Android Automotive OS is indeed a step up in terms of connectivity, usability, and its ability to offer over-the-air (OTA) updates. One thing is for sure, that 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen will certainly be the biggest unit to be fitted in any Honda to date.

Other things to expect from this Google integration are of course apps like Google Assistant, Google Maps, and many more. More details will follow suit come November when it is launched globally. Thoughts?
